7 December: Third Event in the Informational Series on Freie Universität’s Digitization Strategy – Digitizing Administrative Processes and More – FutureIT Phase 2
Future IT – the project to restructure IT services and support at Freie Universität Berlin – is advancing to the next stage in its development. Now that the fundamental decisions have been made, we are ready to shift from the conceptual phase to its actual implementation. What are the next steps? How is IT organized at our university? Are there aspects that are undecided or still being shaped?
“FUtureIt Phase 2,” our third installation in the informational series, will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will be discussing the current state of affairs in the Future IT process, the structure of FUB-IT (the new central facility for IT), and specific areas that are still being developed.
All employees and researchers at Freie Universität Berlin are warmly invited to attend the online session. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the event, which will be hosted by the Director of Administration and Finance (entrusted with the performance of official duties in this role), Andrea Güttner; the Chief Information Officer, Professor Jochen Schiller; and the director of FUB-IT, Michael Flachsel.
The informational session is going to be held in German. We will then make arrangements to provide additional information in English.
This event series will continue in 2024 with a presentation of the university’s plans related to research IT. The next informational session will take place in the first quarter of 2024. Please check this website for the exact date and time.
